More LOTR icons
I made a whole batch of those sort of grungy, browned-out LOTR icons. I've already done the community rounds with them, but now they're here, too. They aren't on the website yet, but they will be.

If you like these icons but your favorite choice of character isn't among them, and you'd like to see one done of him/her/it, say so, and I'll probably do it. Now that I've got the hang of these they're quick work. :)

It's one texture -- I fiddled around with brushes and stuff for a while, got an image I liked, flattened it, saved it, and then used it the exact same way on all the icons. They're all brushes that came from [info]100x100_brushes. Well, not all, but mostly.

Oh, and then when I was erasing around the faces I used different eraser brushes on each of them, with textures and shapes. I think it shows the most on Leggy's forehead.

::shrugs:: I don't know about patience... it was essentially an assembly-line process after the first icon (which was the Faramir one, and is my favorite of the batch). I did the last five in a half-hour, total. That's quick for me on icons, anyway. :-P

No, I mean the patience to create the texture to begin with....I think I just have too many brushes to choose from and I don't know half of what I have... :)

Oh my gosh, pretty Samwise icon! This is the first time in AGES that I'm using a non-Bollywood icon. Taken, loved and credited.

Not taking any, although they are lovely...Just wanted to say, I'm not a big Faramir fan (I don't dislike him, but he's not my favorite), but that is the best shot of him in the entire movie, when Aragorn is watching people bow to him during the Coronation. I was always struck by Faramir's expression there.


That is the shot, isn't it? :P

He is my favorite, and I love that shot too. And yes, that's it. Eowyn's on his left (or rather, our left, his right) in the original frame. :)

I'm much more for colour in icons, but these sepia-toned ones are lovely. Took all to gloat over. :) If used will credit as always.
